Dio Cassius (Cassius Dio), c. CE, was born in Bithynia. Little of his Roman History survives, but missing portions are partly supplied from elsewhere and there are many excerpts. Dio's work is a vital source for the last years of the Roman republic and the first four Roman emperors. Same author also has books on the empire, very condense and to the point. Seems like exactly what you’re looking for. I have not read a single book that claims to cover all of Roman history though, I do not think that would be a very interesting read as so one cannot delve even remotely into detail.

The Loeb Classical Library (LCL; named after James Loeb; / l oʊ b /, German:) is a series of books, originally published by Heinemann in London, today by Harvard University Press, which presents important works of ancient Greek and Latin literature in a way designed to make the text accessible to the broadest possible audience, by presenting the original Greek or Latin text on each left-hand. Ammianus Marcellinus (c. - after ) is the preeminent historian of the Late Roman Empire, whose extant work forms the most important narrative we possess on the Fourth Century A.D. Born of genteel extraction in a Greek-speaking part of the empire, Ammianus served in the army in campaigns ranging form Gaul to Persia before settling in Rome and beginning his literary carreer/5(1).
